Grace & Lorne - Aultmore Estate

As Bob Dylan Once Said…

Why wait any longer for the world to begin?
You can have your cake and eat it too.

And why on earth have I started this blog with a lovely Bob Dylan quote?

Because cake. That’s why!

Well there are two reasons really… First of all this wedding had hands down THE BEST cake table I have ever witnessed. It was HUGE! There were actually about four cake tables and it was all lovely. And not just cake… All the sweet treats you can imagine! I got back to Aberdeen after this wedding feeling about a stone heavier. I most certainly had some cake and ate it too (along with everyone else obviously - I’m not an animal!)

And secondly… Grace and Lorne got married at the absolutely incredible Aultmore Estate in June 2022… And Aultmore Estate just happens to be owned by Bob Dylan… Now that’s not a fact that had any baring on the wedding… But as someone who collects whisky produced by Heaven’s Door Distillery (which is also owned by Bob Dylan) It’s definitely a fact that got me excited!

Bob Dylan and cake aside… This wedding was genuinely brilliant! As soon as Grace and Lorne got in touch, told me their wedding plans and asked if I would be their wedding videographer I was 100% sold. I’m always happy to drive a couple hours away from Aberdeen when I get the chance to film amazing weddings like this!

For me, weddings should be about uniqueness and doing what makes you happy. Choose a venue that you love and just put your own personality into everything. Don’t worry too much about tradition… And these guys had a DIY wedding like no other! Incredible food, loads of laughs, a gorgeous outdoor ceremony (Thank you Scotland for the sun), A shot-wall that kept blowing over (Thank you Scotland for the wind), beer pong, champagne towers, a guard of honour (shinty style) and to cap it all off in true Highland fashion… An epic party and packed dance floor!

It doesn’t get much better than this as a wedding videographer.

Oh, did I mention there was cake?
